Starlite is easily one of the most distinctive places to stay around Cañon City.
The property is built around restored vintage campers, colorful retro cottages, mid-century-inspired apartments, and an old-school roadside-vacation atmosphere that feels more like stepping into the 1960s than checking into a hotel.
The vintage campers each have their own theme and personality. If you want more room, Starlite also has mountain cottages and larger retro apartments.

Big Views
Mountain View RV Resort Cabins & Glamping
Mountain View is a locally owned resort west of Cañon City with two comfort cabins and two elevated glamping domes in addition to its RV sites.
The domes are the more unusual option. They're raised above the ground and positioned to take advantage of the broad views toward the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, sunsets, and dark night skies.
The comfort cabins provide a simpler enclosed option for travelers who want a bed and roof without staying in a traditional motel.
Guests also have access to the resort's shared amenities and outdoor gathering areas.
Cabins and glamping domes are not pet-friendly, although the RV portion of the resort does allow pets.

Dreamweaver Cottage
Dreamweaver takes the opposite approach. Instead of getting outside town, it puts you directly across from Centennial Park and only steps from the Arkansas River.
The renovated 1907 cottage has two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living space, and a front porch overlooking the park.
Downtown restaurants and shops are only a few blocks away, while the river trail, playground, splash pad, tennis courts, and railroad depot are immediately nearby.
It's one of the better choices if you want a cottage rather than a hotel but still want to explore Cañon City without driving everywhere.
